PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE DONE THE
FOLLOWING:
- Original birth certificates
as well as bring two copies for each
- Valid passports with
two copies of each.
- Statutory declarations
of single status legalized by the consulate
of the Dominican Republic. Bring originals as
well as two copies of each.
- Divorce certificate
or death certificate (if applicable). Bring
original or notarized photocopy. In both cases
a minimum waiting period of ten months applies
before you can remarry.
- Copies of the documentation
must be send to the wedding coordinator at least
one month prior to the wedding day.
- The consulate of the
Dominican Republic must translate and legalize
the statutory declarations of single status
and the divorce/death certificate, as well as
the birth certificates.
** The wedding certificate
is in Spanish, as this is the official language
of the country. all documents generated in the
country must be in Spanish.
Cost you may have to incur for documentation
prior to your trip:
$75 USD legalization fee per document (each document
$40 USD per page translation fee (We suggest that
you ask for an example to be sent to you so you
can have it translated yourself
Payments for the above are to be made in cash
or certified cheque or money order in U.S. currency.
** The above steps are as provided
from the consulate however we strongly suggest
that you contact them yourself to ensure that
you are provided with any recent adjustments made.
